There is no fact in the ratio of English players to foreign players being 3 to 1.

Either way, England isn't producing top quality footballers anymore. Young English talent is rare, and the market is so geared towards English players that if a club wants to buy, they almost currently can't buy English.

The minute a player is English is worth is doubled on the market, which is unfortunite. Chelsea, Man Utd, and Liverpool are still relatively English sides, but Arsenal is almost completely foriegn. Because of Benitez, Liverpool is becoming very Spanish. Fergie seems to like British talent and so does Roman.

However, English youth development isn't matching the talent put out by rival countries. If the top teams want to compete in Europe, English isn't always the answer.

Yes, there are too many over sea's players in the prem., but if the prem. wants to be considered the best league in football then you have to sign the best players which are not always from England.
