Is it in your opinion that this holds weight (no pun intended) or is it just a load of bull? Do you think people taking responsibility for their own health outweighs this supposed link?

I know...obviously if you are stuffing McDonalds in your face all day you are going to have weight issues. My point is I believe the study is biased...In the end, people have to be responsible for what they consume. It is no ones fault but their own.

Actually, in response to Super Size Me, a study was conducted by a university professor and two students (one male, one female). Like Spurlock (from Super Size Me), the students also ate fast food for 30 days at every meal but were allowed to visit various fast food restaurants - not just McDonald's. The students were advised to choose healthier options and eat portions that were appropriate for their body (this is the key - portions are what really matters!). The results found that both students actually lost weight and their cholesterol lowered. Pretty amazing!

Well, it's no lie that McDonald's foods are loaded with trans fats and other unhealthy ingredients, but I think the obese people need to take a little bit of responsibility for their weight because McDonald's is just fine every once in a while, IN MODERATION. You don't see me going in there and ordering like 9 Big Macs and a super size Coke and fries, and then topping it off with like 12 apple pies. I just get the All-American Meal, which is sort of like the adult version of a Happy Meal, with a regular cheeseburger, small fries, and a small drink. I really didn't think Super Size Me was an accurate portrayal of what McDonald's can do to you, because nobody actually eats three meals a day consisting of Big Macs and fries there. or at least, they shouldn't.

If you eat burgers and fries wether it be in mcdonalds or not youll get fat thats not big news, so mcdonalds sells mostly burgers and fries so yes most of the people that eat at mcdonalds must be fat. Same for Burger Kings and the pizza fast foods but i guess its no big deal its only a matter of what people wants more, healthey food and good figure or tasty food and not a nice figure. There are also health problems related to obesity but evryone knows that so its your choice what you want to eat. I personally like McDs but i dont eat regularly there, just from time to time.

I really dislike all the lawsuits against fast food places. There are ways to eat fast food and not become obese. I love McDonald's fries but instead of ordering a big meal i order the happy meal with the smaller servings. mcDonald's also offer's salad options so you can't blame the company when it is your choice to order the Big Mac meall supersized. Also it's not McDonald's fault the someone decided to overeat and under exercise.

Of course McDonald's and obesity are linked! What is not linked (and should be another scientific study) is the IQ of the people who visit McDonald's and then complain about their weight gain. I always put on weight when I have my grandchildren as they love McD's ... I'm well aware that the choices I make when I go there are absolutely the worst - but that is my responsibiltiy .. not McD's .... when will people start taking responsibility for their own actions .. everyone complains about "Big Brother" but they are the same people who want big brother to fight these stupid battles for them.

Have you seen the documentary "Super Size Me" ? He goes on a McDonald's diet for 30 days, taking a super size each time it is offered, as many people do. He goes to the doctor each week for checkups. Besides gaining weight, his cholesterol and heart rate increase to dangerous levels. Watch the movie and you'll see how bad McDonald's is. Yes it is up to the individual, but McDonald's is cheap and filling and fast for people on the go.

I don't eat McDonalds, and limit any kind of fast food simply because it is NOT healthy.

Yes there are people who "got fat" by eating fast food all the time.

In many poor neighborhoods fast food is the only option. Cheap food tends to be high in salt, sugar, and fat all things that are bad for you. It is much more expensive to eat fresh fruit and veggies that quite often are rare and very expensive in poor neighborhoods. There is a definite link between obesity and poverty, much more so than between fast food and obesity.

Watch the movie "Supersize me", pretty convincing.

I have no doubt that fastfood will make you fat if you eat it on a regular basis. Some people live off of it, and they get fat. So yes, they should take responsibility for that portion.

I will NEVER eat fast food, in my opinion, it is worse than some drugs.

if you are obese is because you eat a lot and not healthy... who's fault? if i enter to a mc donalds is my fault, everyone can understand that it is a fat food, but it's good...
everyone knows nowadays that healthy food is fruit and vegetable...
if you choose to eat fat is your fault, I can sell everything but if you are irresponsible don't buy everything...
mcdonalds is just a fast-food,if you wanna eat junk food world is full of it...
I eat quite healthy but I'm overweight, I know that if I eat at mc i'll get more fat (my good a meal equals to all calories you need in 1 day!!!), enyways I go there once a month or less, but i know that's my mistake...
I have a brain and i use it, i don't do everything tv says me...is really people so stupid?

Have you seen the movie Super Size Me yet? It showed that eating McD's could become addictive, as well as a lot of other really interesting stuff. I do believe the link!
