Doppler radar uses the Doppler effect to measure the radial velocity of targets in the antenna's directional beam. The Doppler effect shifts the received frequency up or down based on the radial velocity of target (closing or opening) in the beam, allowing for the direct and highly accurate measurement of target velocity.

Because of the Doppler effect, the frequency of a relected signal is different from the transmitted signal when reflected off a moving object. The analogy is the sound of a train whistle changingpitch as it goes by. The amount of frequncy change depends on the speed of the moving object. Here's a site

How close friends are you with this guy? If you can, get him to come over and watch wrestling on TV with you. Have a few beers then start acting goofy and wrestle him, and see what happens. If you guys are meant for each other it will probably get a little steamy right then. It's so cool to find out you really like each other, and I hope the best for you. If you can get him to wrestle you be sure and laugh, make lots of noise and beg him for mercy. My b/f tells me when I do that it makes him way horny!
