"There is no strategy," he [Hagel] said of the Bush administration's war management. "This is a pingpong game with American lives. These young men and women that we put in Anbar province, in Iraq, in Baghdad are not beans; they're real lives. And we better be damn sure we know what we're doing, all of us, before we put 22,000 more Americans into that grinder."

Yup, and I will wait for him to stand trial too, right after Scooter Libby.

Sen. Hagel has actually got a pair. You must be of mind that all the Senators and Congressmen are robots that must never object to the President. Please, child! Let's send all the people who are bashing Sen. Hagel to Baghdad and let them experience some Bush and Cheney strategy for themselves. Has anyone seen that video of the boxer Butterbean fighting some dude and the referee is in the corner and accidently gets knocked out cold when he steps in front of Butterbeans punch intended for the other guy? That is going to be us if we actually think we can stop this civil war that has been brewing for over a thousand years. It's time to wake up from the B.S. stew everybody has been eating for the last several years. It's time to reach down low, grab the pair the good Lord gave ya and sound off. I don't care if the Pres. is Republican, Democrat or Klingon for that matter, if he makes assnine decisions regarding the fine troops who risk life and limb in the belief that their Pres. is going to make the right choices and not sacrafice their lives for an impossible mission, then someone has to stand up and say no more. I applaud Sen. Hagel for being that person who stands up to be counted. He has my vote should he run for President in 08'. God bless America!

Senator Chuck Hagel should be praised not denounced!!!
.... for his views especially about the War. If someone express his/her views and be labeled as a traitor and not patriotic then what is left for freedom of speech and democracy in the Congress and Senate. Moreover, he speaks on the behalf of Americans, too!
So far none from the Admin. has come out with clear-cut and effective solutions to end this costly War.

confident, it is exactly it. he's a traitor. You hit the nail top on the top. solid interest! Oh wait, isn't it treason to declare conflict with out the authorization of congress, falsify intelligence and lie to the yank human beings on the cost of 4000 infantrymen, and shred the U. S. shape, touching on it as, quote "purely a bite of paper?" confident. that actual meets the definition of treason. And that doesn't even get into all the treason best as much as 9-11. And homicide. And conspiracy to dedicate homicide. And fraud. And election fraud. Wow, this record is getting too long. although this is not correct. those to blame should not be made to answer for his or her crimes, no matter HOW clean they are, no matter how unfavourable their tries to disguise their tracks. human beings believe what the media tells them. end of tale. do no longer concern, each and every thing's wonderful. save eating the fluoride....

Not a traitor, but he is wrong. He's not a general on the ground, or in charge, but General Petraes is, and he says the strategy can be successful. You see, there is a plan, and Bush outlined it last night. If I were you I'd leave it to those in charge. Hey, the Libs can vote not to send troops, and that's what they should do if they're so against this war, but they won't, so if I were you, I wouldn't worry about things you can't change.

Senator Hagel may be the only hero in America today. And I hope to God he becomes President before Bush has a chance to start WW3.

I dont see why you would call him a traitor. What do you want? For every congressman and senator to agree with Bush 100% and never speak their own mind? Thats kinda like a dictatorship isnt it?

No just voicing his opinion. Its the American way. I'm so sick and tired of repub's saying Dem's are anti-american if they disagree with the war, and I'm just as sick and tired of the Dem's saying that Bush lied so we could go to war. Both is a pile of shet. No wonder America is in a mess, civility is out the door and gone. God please help us. the guy above me is an excellent example.

If we are at a place in this country where we can call one of the few politicians that tell the truth a traitor, this country is in a lot of trouble.

Excuse me, but that would make him a rubberstamper. And Dictatorships have rubberstamp congresses.

Is Bush a dictator?
