I read your response to my answer to your last question, whether child molestors should be castrated.

This question, I am assuming, is in response to the general acknowledgment that paedophilia is a result of "faulty wiring" rather than "hormone-induced-burning-lust etc etc." I am guessing that you are asking then, if it is indeed a "brain thing" rather than a "balls thing," as I suggested previously, whether neutralizing the brain, as opposed to the balls is then, somehow, more appropriate...

Well, my answer might not seem very sophisticated to you, but it predicated on a world view that does not glorify human beings for their capacity for reason, but rather views them as animals, primarily, with a greater capacity for neurotic behavior then most other animals, and thus, more dangerous.

I don't think castration is appropriate. Likewise, I do not think that lobotomies would serve any function besides that function served with punitive castration, namely, that it appeases an essentially savage and uncivilized segment of our population's primordial thirst for blood and need for the feeling of empowerment that comes from willing another animal to suffer. It is no different, really, than kids who chase black ants with magnifying glasses and thus is in no way a punishment informed by a sense of justice.

What I DO believe is appropriate, and this represents my feelings on punishment for any crime that leaves victims in its wake, is that the victims, or representatives of the victims be allowed to extract whatever vengeance they wish or to forgive as they wish, once guilt is established.

If someone killed my child, I would want to kill that person. I would not want that person to receive the death penalty, however. The state is not a fair arbiter of justice, for the state, in and of itself is an unjust proposition (basically, that individuals are coerced, by threat of violence, into surrendering their right to govern themselves to others whom they, generally, have no direct, personal connection with). I would not want the person responsible for my child's death to be put on death row or sent to a penitentiary....I do, however, imagine that pushing a knife through that person's throat with my own hands while watching the life fade from their eyes would be a very liberating and cleansing experience.

With all that said, allowing the state the power to sterilize people, or to lobotomize people (basically, taking their personality away) is never something that rational people, with a healthy fear of the power of the state, would ever consider seriously.

Since the frontal lobe has a part to play in controlling our impulses. this has to be one of the most repugnantly stupid suggestions I've heard (for today at least)

How could it possibly be beneficial to take away someone's ability to plan, to evaluate one set of actions and consider an alternative?

I can only conclude that the purpose would be to demean and manipulate, which frankly makes you no better than the paedophile you believe to be your moral inferior.

I have no idea what those are - but full castration creates suicide bombers & bad stuff & a grim world of beheadings - we should find a way to get all kinds of criminals to do less reoffending, maybe through sophisticated mind control techniques ... ?

(Or just with decent education & parenting & opportunities)

honestly no longer. the challenge is with the mind. major learn coach that the point of early childhood trauma, or misguidance is extra to do with laying the tracks for such unealthy deviant habit. except contained in the realtively small type of honestly infant molesters that are merely demanding-stressed out for the stymulus. authentic, the victin continues to be suffered the most. notwithstanding, in case you kill the sex offenders, then kill the drug adicts and all of us who liquids because i have lost sufficient kinfolk because of them, kill each and all of us who has any type of attack list (criminal or misdemeanor) they are violent, and then each and every of the sexist and racist causes too. do not honestly kill all of us, i'm being ironic. hi i recognize lets merely clone Hitler, because he effective had a strong concept about killing 1000's of thousands who he blamed all his extraordinary beliefs on. Or.....we merely type stricter regulations about punishment and required ending contact of treatment. and attempt this on for length. We...D-E-A-L with our mutual issues instead of merely resorting to the first quick emotion-depending answer, like sex offenders do.

Sexual offenders cannot be cured but they can be controlled. They should have to take hormone reducing drugs to curb their predatory instincts.
