It's unfair that the government forces some people to pay other people's bills, period, drugs or no drugs.

No they don't. However your question is a social one. some people are not on welfare out of choice. I have been trying to return to work for over a year but because I am disabled I find it hard to do. Would you rather have children starving in the streets and disabled homeless all over the country like it was before the child labor law reform and ada act. Seriously if you can give me a job let me know.

Not in the state of N.C. and they really should because I see every first of the month more drugs being purchased than necessities of the home and for their children. I have been on welfare before and trust me it is not the kind of thing one would want to stay on unless they are totally lazy or mentally challenged.

They can't work because they'd fail the drug test! No - welfare recipients are not drug tested prior to receiving benefits.

No they don't. At first I was thinking it would be a good idea, that they should. But the more I think about it, the welfare program would probably want to requisition more money to put all the welfare recipients in rehab.

Truth is that most people on welfare is because they are or were drug addicts. So become a recovering drug addict and you will get welfare. Sad.

You don't even have to elaborate on your question. It's the perfect rhetorical question that says: "we're wasting our money on social issues because only drug addicts get this funding and spend it on illegal activities leading to more crime."

No, they don't.
The welfare ranks would diminish significantly if they did.
