Ok who is this Mr. Dewar? And can he at least be credited with the invention of Scotch? Cause I'm not agreeing with his quotes. *wink*

I don't think that Love has to cost us anything. Ok I know we aren't referring to monetary costs. But metaphorically speaking, if love has to "cost" us something I would rather remain floating in the ocean and drown in sorrow and lonliness.

I disagree. Love is much more than this! It is much more like an island of possibilities!!

Love is when you can look into the eyes of a person and have the ability to interpret, accept, and understand each and every movement of her eyes, however subtle, however brief. It is when you communicate an ocean of thoughts with a simple passing glance, when a barely noticeable movement of her eyebrows becomes a tidal wave of emotions which you willingly surf effortlessly.

That is one way of putting it :)

I prefer to think of love as an ocean in general; it covers most of the world, has immeasurable depths of which we've never even seen a glimmer of, and has the ability to shape the landscape over time.....among other things :)

Maybe...

I think it's more an emotion that acts as a catalyst to obtain the means to all your ends...

You can fall in love with anyone if they forfill your needs and you theirs.

Mutual using?

Love is, in its true definition and purpose. Unconditional.

Try and find that these days!

Yes... which means either you sink or land on plethora of expenditure, not only monetary but also psychological.... but this is purely the male perspective.

The female perspective is different.... it is ocean of emotions surrounded by strong but pleasing security walls!!

I can honestly say that I do not know. Love is an enigma to me. Far be it from me to make any claim of knowledge on such a topic.
