Passwords are used to keep unauthorized persons from accessing your computer. You should always use a name number combination that you will never forget...

If you forgot the password to the "adminastrator" then you may be in for a disappointment. If it was to a "user" you can log in as the administrator and delete the user, then recreate it.

Not sure what operating system you are using, but Windows 98 had a problem with log in passwords and many times you could just hit the escape key and by-pass the log in screen.

I can't tell you how to delete the password file, but that may be possible if you can load from the restore disk or load the system in DOS mode....

You may also try to reload the windows operating system, but beware ALL INFORMATION ON THE HARD DRIVE WILL BE LOST!!!!

What about the "Forgot Password Option"?
If you sign on with the wrong name, doesn't it give you that options?
I would at try that before going to what seems like extreme measures.

If you forgot your system password, there is no way to get it back, except removing your CIMOS battery to clear that password.

There is nothing to worry to remove that from ur CPU, no data is going to loss.
