let the angles be x and y
then since they are supplemantary angles, x + y = 180
also x = 3y - 300
solving the two , we have
3y - 300 + y = 180
=> 4y = 180 +300
=> 4y = 480
=> y = 120
since x+ y = 180 and y = 120 , x = 60

Let x = measure of the angle
Remember the supplementary angle of a given angle (lets call it y) is 180-y
And just to make you further remember things you should know, the complement of that angle y would be 90-y
The rest of the problem is simply putting the words into numbers and letters:
"three hundred degrees less " = unknown - 300
Now they are going to define that unknown part: " ... than three times the measure of its supplement"
= 3 * (180 - x )
So, put the parts together and:
x = 3*(90-180) - 300
Now just solve for x

The 2 angles are 120 degree and 60 degree
you can solve this by make to formula
suppose the first angle is x1
and the second is x2
x1+x2=180 degree (supplementary)
3x2-x1=300
solve the 2 equation and the result are 60,120

when one angle is the suplement of another it must be that their sum is 180
so x + y = 180
and x + 300 = 3y
the only thing you need to do is to solve this system
you can express y from the first equation and substitute it into the second one
y = 180 - x
x + 300 = 3(180 -x)
x + 300 = 540 - 3x
4x = 540 -300
4x = 240
x = 60
so y must be 180 - 60 = 120 degrees.

x-300=3(360-x)
x-300=1080-3x
4x=1380
x=345
the angle is 345 degrees and the supplement is 15 degrees
but watch how you use you terms because supplementary means they are angles that add up to 90 in which case the problem would be possible to answer
unless you really meant supplement in which case the problem really doesn't work out

à =a
à = b
a + b = 180
a = 3b - 300º
Substitution:
3b - 300 + b = 180
4b = 180 + 300
4b = 480
b = 480 : 4
b = 120º
a + b = 180
a + 120 = 180
a = 180 - 120
a = 60º
Ans: a = 60º and b = 120º.
