I'm trying to get a birthday present for my boyfriend and need either a pirate ship in a bottle(he would never commit to making it himself) or a pirate flag replica. Not one of the cheapy nylon ones, but something thick.

make your own flag, it will be better than any bought one.
Buy some good strond black material and paint the jolly roger ( skull and cross bones on it with white acrylic paint cut the edge that would be free to flap all wavy like its old and ripped and sew the other edge into a long thin pocket sealed at the top and shove a long thin dowel into this pocket, maybe with a rubberband at the lower edge to hold it in place if it is to be used outside in the wind.
