Location of Luxor is really good, most of the people think that Luxor locate in the south cause they all consider the main city in the north is Alexandria and in the south is Aswan, but in fact if you look to the map you can find Luxor could be in the middle of Egypt, south of Luxor there are 3 small cities and the fourth is Aswan, there are Esna, Edfu, Kom ombo and then Aswan. each city of those have temple. distance between Luxor and Aswan overland almost 3 hours.
north of Luxor there are big city call Qina and there are famous big temple call Dendra. distance to Qina 1 hour driving.
east of Luxor the red sea and the big city there is Hurgada and Safaga, distance to safaga 3 hours and to Hurgada 4 hours driving.
west of Luxor there are the Western desert and the nearest oasis is 3 hours driving.
Luxor itself, have nice corner in the river Nile, the main city consider in the east-bank, there are big train station connect Luxor between the north and the south.
there are international airport locate 7 km north of the city.
this airport connect Luxor with the other big cities like Sharm El Shiekh, Hurgada, Cairo, Aswan. also with different country in Europe and Asia.
distance between Luxor and Cairo by flight about 1 hours, by train around 10 hours.
in the east bank as well you can find 2 temples and 2 museum,"Karnak and Luxor temple" - "Luxor and Mummification museums"
in the west-bank almost it is village and there are soo many temple and tombs like: "kings valley - queens valley - Hatshepsout temple - workers valley - nobles valley - madient Habu - Ramsum temple - Seti I temple".

The area of Luxor is a city in Upper Egypt. It is filled with historical monuments and is a relaxed and welcoming place to go. The main thing that Luxor is famous for is actually across the river from the city. It is called the Valley of the Kings and anyone who has taken ANY Egyptian history should know about it. It also has the great Karnak temple, The temple of Hatchupshup and Luxor Temple......AS WELL as many other monuments. Well worth a visit if you are ever in Egypt.

Luxor is a city in Egypt. It's in the south, near another city called "Aswan". They're always mentioned together, like "I'll travel to Luxor and Aswan".
What kind of info exactly are you looking for?
