The state you live in if the order has already been done.

The state the child support order was rendered in. If you are already divorced then the child support entity in that state you divorced in will handle the processing of the child support.

the state where the divorce was finalized at unless there was no child support provision on the divorce order. then it becomes an issue of who files first; also in some states they will take it on no matter where the order was filed if the mom applies for public assistance. check with your state to confirm the sticky details

initially speaking, it is the first jurisdiction in which the child support order was filed. The money may pass from state to state if she is on welfare, but it is always the original jurisdiction that prevails unless both parents and the child have moved out of that locale and there is no arrears.

It all depends where the order gets entered! Was it already addressed in the divorce judgment?

She can file in her state or in your state.. Depending where she files and what court hears and enters the case, once an order gets entered That's the state that will have jurisdiction.

Even if two states are involved only one will be in charge of enforcement.

I currenly am paying child support. The support order will always be inforced in the county of the state in which the mariage was desolved in unless a court order is made in which that would move to another state. I do not know a case in which that has ever happened because those countys get kickbacks for collection and they don;t just kindly give that up. love the world of child support...........NOT!!.. g l....

Actually it is the state in which the Divorce was granted until a petition to change jurisdicition is completed by one of the two parties in the state that they reside if other than the original state in which the divorce was awarded.

My understanding is the state that governs that is the same state where the divorce decree was filed.
