used to have them all the time several years ago. i used to feel like i was dying...and it was horrible. pure terror!

anyways...rarely even get them anymore...but i am not sure why. i dont think they are typically somethign you just outgrow.

sometimes i think they are the result of having a bad experience or traumatic experience in your sub-conscience.

breathe through it...and prayer always helped me.

My last panic attack took place in a plane, as I am really afraid of planes. Unfortunately there was no other way to travel at that moment.

I felt like I was going to faint, not like I am having a heart attack. My mouth got dry, my palms were sweaty. Dreadful feeling. The good thing was that the trip lasted only half an hour but in was enough to make me feel that I am in panic. I just asked some water from the stewardess and the guy who sat next to me calm me down a little bit. I took plenty of deep breaths and I was myself only when I stepped outside the plane.

Yup. I think I only had one twice, both in a car. No, I was just afraid of dying. The first time, my mom kept on talking to me, but for some reason I was not responding to what ever she wanted me to do. Scary. I didn't stop until I was abck home, and got to bed around 3 am after watching The Fellowship of the ring...
The second was a mini one, where I just kept on praying, my friends just held my hands, and were real quiet.

You have to breathe. I know it is a simplistic answer, but for some people breathing is a trained response in a time of panic. You can do things to help you learn the breathing principle: yoga, meditation, prayer, Karate Kid II technique, or get in touch with Lucinda Bassett (http://www.stresscenter.com/cts/21347914) for ways that she can help.

I have Anxiety disorder... so I can say that I have had many attacks. Whata I do is try to calm down and write in my journal my thoughts and feelings of whatever may be causing my anxiety.

I used to have them a lot. Every time I had one I was convinced I was dying right then and there.

I just rode them out until they passed.
