My 1st anniversary isn't for a few more months and I thought I'd see what ideas people had for a gift. I do have a few in mind, but still thought I'd see what ideas other people had.

It's true you can't go wrong with jewelry. But time is also invaluable. Our first anniversary we spent the day together on a daytrip to a favorite place. Doesn't have to be expensive. Just the fact the my husband forgets everything but didn't forget that was enough.
I also have a friend who has been married for three years. Her husband puts together an album with every years memorable events(in their life) for her. It's sappy, but women like sappy.

These have been the traditional gifts given to wives by their husbands for a long time. I am a romantic so I like to stick to the list...but I do give her two gifts, one from each side. I think it's fun to have to find a gift in that years choice. I mean all these chicks in here are talking about cakes and spas....and thats nice, but you can do that anytime. This is your anniversary and this will make it easy for you your whole life. Because if you start down the path of just buying her another gift you will have a problem EVERY year. Trust me stick with this list and get creative..she will appreciate the notion and you will have a guide for the rest of your lives together.

The traditional gift for the first anniversary is paper. I suggest that concert or show tickets might be a better idea than cash or a check.
Is it feasible to to go back to where you had your honeymoon? How about where you went on your first date?

Most women are easy to please. The fact that you remembered the anniversary would probably impress her. Paper is traditional as a gift, but I think sentimental works better. I would say take her to the first restaurant you ate at, the place you proposed, somewhere like that. Give her a piece of jewelry that you can add on to. One diamond for every year.

As a Massage Therapist, I have known many many women whom have received a gift certificate for a full body massage at a nice spa or nice facility. If she is into this kind of thing, she will love it! Most importantly, don't let it end here. Make sure you spend your time telling her and showing her how much you love her. That's the best.

Well mine is in March so I am taking my wife to Chicago by train from Michigan. We are staying in botuique hotel in downtown, dinner at Signature Restaurant atop Hancock buidling then night out at one of the Chicagos hip night club and then back to hotel room for champagne toast and lots of love. We are not in in exchanging expensive gifts as the money is going out from the same pool. We love to travel and create happy moments in our life, which we can cheris later on.

I think it's supposed to be paper for the first year but hey who wants paper. Unless you give her papers to a new car, house, etc... The nicest gift I could think of is a weekend getaway. Tell her that you to are gonna just spend the weekend at home but actually take her someplace romantic in your town or even somewhere she's never been before.
