Ben Wallace was a much better player in Detroit. Actually, I think he was made to play in Detroit. I don't know why but when he was there, the Pistons looked so much better.
Now in Chicago, Wallace looks like an average people and doesn't seem to fit as well with Deng, Hinrich, Gordon and the rest as with Billups, Prince, Hamilton and the other Wallace.
Let's face it: the old Detroit Pistons startup which included Ben Wallace was impressive. Plus, we all know Ben Wallace is much more better at defense than at the offense... And guess what? Detroit is a much more defensive team than Chicago.
As for the defensive player award, I don't think he'll earn it this year. As it was said previously, Bulls' coaches aren't using Wallace's talent as they should, resulting in a player that we used to like a lot more.

He is still a great defensive player, and has a chance to get Defensive Player of the Year, but his stats have dropped slightly in nearly every category. You can't reproduce what there was in Detroit.

In Detroit. He has been somewhat of a let down in Chicago. His rebounds are down and so are his blocks. I think that might have something to do with the coaching situation in Chicago. In Detroit, he was the heart of the team. The city embraced him and so did his teammates. I don't think he feels the same in Chi-town.

dwight howard will win defensive player of the yr this yr. Ben Wallace is a great player, but Scott Skiles doesn't utilize his talents that well, which sucks because Ben doesn't get stats like last year because he gets rotated in the lineup alot.

Wess D, the reason for that is because Bulls has backups C/Pf who comes in and play well. Ben Wallace with Detriot, he had to no backups at C that can give him rest like he does in chicago

He was far better in Detroit.
It's unfortunate that he's not anymore. He held the Pistons up and was one of the reasons for how they kept getting as far as they did. Now he's not there to help them, and doesn't seem to be helping the Bulls as much as people had hoped either.
