For Man Utd, Ronaldo plays on the wing, he is an attacking midfielder as he seems to be the person we look to off our counters and he is a player that rarely tracks back in games. He isn't really a sided midfielder, he is more of a winger, an attacking wide-man.
I don't think he plays the same position for Portugal though. I don't watch much of Portugal, but I think he is almost into the center of the park more or even slots in as a forward.

I don't really do football so I have no idea who this ronaldo dude is. A winger plays from a position on the left or right 'wing' of the soccer field. A striker is up front looking to score goals. You might find more information on wikipedia. Noroc

a player can be both a midfielder and a striker depending on the player...if the player is good in both positions, the coach can make certain changes on the field (which is an advantage)...i dont know what they mean in romanian...
