The first two answers are daft. A male-to-female TS regards themselves as female. If they want a relationship with a guy, they would only consider straight guys, because a gay guy obviously is still considering them to be a man!
On the other hand, if your guy had sex with a female-to-male TS, then he effectively had sex with somebody who regarded themself as a guy and wanted sex with another guy... In that case, your guy would be open to gay sex (not the same thing as gay, by the way).
It all makes sense if you remember that a TS regards themselves as members of their new sex, and would not want relationships with people who do not accept that fact.
Please remember in any case that one sexual relationship does not define anybody, and what your guy tells you should have more weight than 10 year old history.
