we have a boss who tries to control every action of our work, treats us like children in kindergarten, and eats, breathes and sleeps this job. We thought when she got married, she would have a life, but that did not happen. She is almost 50 and did not get married until a couple of years ago. She is trying to turn us all into "stepford workers".
She thinks we all should do our work alike, even though we all have our system to do our work. She wants to tell us all how to do our jobs, but does not want to give any assistance. We do social work with the public. She had to interview a client due to a worker being out and could not finish the interview. She came to me and asked me would I finish. Do you know why she could not finish it? She broke her fingernail!!! She dresses like a prima donna and doesn't think she is supposed to do manual labor. We have been to her boss but because she is management, it is ignored. HELP!!!!

You can either find yourself a better situation or you can bite the bullet. Can you go higher than the supervisor you went to? It seems to me that if you stick it out for a while, maybe the upper people will notice exactly what is going on. I would scedule another meeting with the higher up and bring a list of what is going on that bothers you and get signatures by all other offended employees. Then simply ask the supervisor to observe subtly for a few days. Perservere!!!

Wow, this is hard one. It sounds like she is very demanding. Maybe get a petittion out and have people sign it and agree that this is just work not life and demand more respect from bosses. If that doesnt work try protesting. Or if you are really unhappy with your job and no one refuses to pitch and agree if your opinions I would just find a new job.

Have you ever thought of going on strike?! I mean, I know it's out there but if EVERYONE did it, what could she do? She'd have no business to work with with no workers. Just convince everyone to do it!
