Mel is the first name & Danielle is the middle name. Does it sound nice and easy to say? I was afraid it might sound too redundant because of the similar ending sounds. What do you think? Thanks! :)

It's for a girl and Mel is meant to be short for Melanie, but I've noticed many people don't pronounce it correctly, and I hate people butchering it. I know because Melanie is my middle name, and it's amazing how many people can manage to pronounce it wrong. thanks again~

Mel Danielle? Yes, It does sound redundant, but it is one of those names because of its flow that can surely get away with it. Now if you take Mel Michelle, for instance, we have problems.

Well it does sound a bit redundant. Why don't you try Melanie Danielle or Melody Danielle. You coukld always call her Mel as a nick. If you name her Mel people wont know if it's a nick for a boy's name or a girl's.
Congrats on your baby!

problem is you have a male's first name and a female's middle name. Is this a male or female?
If its a female the given name should be Melanie Danielle, which is fine. People can choose to call her Mel for short, but her legal name should be Melanie and not Mel.
If its for a male, then you are condeming him for a life of jokes and embarassement by giving him a girl's middle name.

I don't like Mel alone with Danielle. I would do Melanie Danielle or Melody Danielle and then call her Mel for short.

Sorry, but it does sound kinda strange...but then again most people don't use middle names either. What about Melanie or Melody Danielle and then just nickname her Mel if you want to???

Mel would only be good as a nick name- it would have to be short for Melanie or Melody, or Millicent or something.
I suppose you could put it all together- like Mel'Dannielle or Meldanielle- but i much prefer the more traditional names and let the nicks fall as they may

I like melanie but not mel. Mel danielle sounds weird, it doesn't flow well. I can't believe people can't pronounce it.
