I've always found that you get the best selection at season changes. Sometimes you have to buy winter things in April and summer stuff in September. I don't know if I save any more money, but hey that is the fun of shopping right?
Don't fall for something just because it is in an outlet store, it may not be all that discounted. Go with an idea of whatever you are looking for retails for at a regular store. Say this pair of Levi Jeans retails at JC Penny for $45.00 and at the outlet they are priced at $40.00 not a huge savings and you have to factor in convenience. Penny's is 3 blocks from you house and the outlet mall is halfway across the state. Was that $5.00 savings worth it?
Not to discourage you I have found some great things at outlets. I got a Lane Bryant skirt that retailed for $60.00 for $8.00. You just have to look.

Definitely check out the website for the outlet you're interested in shopping at. There is usually some sort of newsletter or VIP club you can sign up for that will send you email notifications of upcoming sales at specific stores and special offers like coupons. If you go to the outlet, there will be an Information Desk or Office that you can visit and usually they will have coupon books that offer additional savings. Good luck!

weekends beacuse sales are better but visit their website and have them send you info. if you go as part of a group they give you coupons to use.
if you are not big on crowds and want to explore without fighting weekdays or the last weekend of the month are best-sales are better to close month with more profit and most people dont have any money so they wont be out shopping-November and December are the exception to this rule

Weekends in terms of savings, but weeknights in terms of avoiding crowds! Weekends typically have coupon offers as much as 30% off in some stores, so be on the lookout for those when you go shopping! Have fun!
