Benny was married, and dated Mimi on the side for a while. They broke up (all of this is back-story to the play) and Mimi later meets and starts dating Roger (in the first few scenes). Their relationship is central to the plot from that point on.
Allison (Benny's wife, also referred to as "Muffy" by some of the other characters) is never seen. I assume that she and Benny remain unhappily married... or not... their relationship doesn't really matter much to the plot, other than to emphasize Benny's general rottenness and the extent to which he has been corrupted by money and power.

He was having an affair with Mimi on the side, alas.
If you saw Mimi on the stairs singing "Out Tonight" you know why.

Well, my friend was on over this summer and got to know him. Then she got off and ever since then she hasn't talked about him. Apparently she met him here (in this section). I haven't seen hiim.
