After the excitement went away I realized that being in a country where I dont speak any other languages is very scary. I plan to visit major cities in Germany, France, Spain, and maybe Sweden/Finland. Im not soo worried about france and germany because I can at least try to speak those languages.. my main fear is Germany due to the harsh and hard to learn language. are my fears well founded?

Not at all. Many people in Germany speak English anyway, and I'm sure they'd be helpful if it was obvious that you couldn't speak German. As for other countries, you'll have no problem making yourself understood even if you don't speak the language, especially in the major cities. Buy a phrase book and try to use what little of the language you know; people will appreciate that you at least made an effort.

wait..you said "Im not soo worried about france and germany because I can at least try to speak those languages.. my main fear is Germany " which doesn't really make sense, but yeah, I've lived in Germany for a year and can sort of speak German, but not very well..i wouldn't bother learning the language, in all major cities most people speak English, just learn numbers up to 10 so that you can deal with money...have fun!

frequently, Germans talk English particularly properly, greater so interior the cities than interior the country. this is going to truly help in case you learn some key words, yet I even have got here upon they opt to have an hazard to coach their English with you, exceedingly in the event that they see you making any attempt to communicate German. They comprehend their language is complicated, and that they are particularly appreciative whilst somebody tries to earnings it. you will have a greater durable time in France and Spain, because of the fact the French are no longer so prepared on talking English, and the Spanish are no longer so solid at it (returned, purely talking oftentimes!). The Swedes and Finns talk particularly surprising English, so no concerns there. although, think approximately difficulty looking artwork in case you do no longer talk the community language, till you plan on coaching English? once you're a DJ you're able to %. up some gigs, although... or you may constantly attempt bartending on the Irish pubs... you on no account comprehend solid success, and don't concern- you will have a large style of relaxing!
