You are correct. When you are married you cannot do whatever you want anytime. You are not selfish. Although, just a warning- one of these days you might find someone that you are willing to trade in some of that freedom for the chance to spend the rest of your life with them.

What would be selfish is getting married when you do not want to. If you do not WANT to get married, then it is just a disaster waiting to be happen, and it would hurt the other person more than if you did not marry them in the first place. Marriage isn't for everyone. If you like being single, then good for you! Have fun. There is nothing selfish about it.
That said, if you are with a person and they want to get married, you need to be honest with them about your feelings from the start. If you do not know if you'll ever want to get married, say so! If you know you will NEVER want to get married, then the person you are with has a right to know. To withhold this information WOULD be selfish!

I think it is being selfish to remain single. Any is free to chose between getting married or not, so if one thinks he/she is better off single then there is no point of calling him/her a selfish person. What is the need to get married want u don't want to or at least when u believe that by getting married you are going to face more problems then ever and that you are not going to have confort in your life.
Nevertheless but always the more married is a nice thing to happen in any individual's life and GOD has recommended it.
There some people couldn't get married but not because they chosed to be so but they were putted in this situation against their will so we can't call them selfish people.
All in all getting married or remaining single is a personal decision and in my opinion it got nothing to do with being selfish.

I do not think it's selfish. Marriage isn't for everyone. Nobody should marry if it's not what they want. There is nothing wrong with remaining single.

No!
When, in this society, did the cherished right of "Pursuit of Happiness" become "selfish?" If being single makes you happier, then stay single, it's your right!

I do not think it is selfish to remain single, but I do think that it is a bad assumption that not being able to do whatever you want whenever you want to makes you unselfish.
