If it's what sport makes the most money per year it isn't close. Other than the MASH finale, the superbowl is the most watched show on television.
The NFL is watched worldwide by several countries. The superbowl is a worldwide event.
The players union is the worst in sports and there are hundreds of players making under a million dollars and rarely any in baseball and football.
The television deals for the NFL absolutely blow away the baseball deals. For every Yankee cable deal, there are 10 pitiful deals.
The NFL network's ratings are slowly climbing and without the NFL, ESPN would be in trouble.
The NFL is the king of sports with Soccer

That’s a hard question to answer, since football most of it’s money comes from revenue sharing meaning that every hat that is purchased every team gets a cut so if you buy a Dallas Cowboys hat the Cleveland Browns also get a cut of that. Where in baseball if the Yankees sell a hat then the Yankees keep the profits. Teams like the Yankees and the Red Sox have incredible TV Deals that even put the NFL’s deal to shame. But you have to remember teams like the Pirates and the Royals don’t have the revenue of the Red Sox so they can’t compete where as in the NFL ever team makes the same amount of money (outside of ticket sales and concessions). I will go with baseball on the ground that the Yankees as a franchise are worth more then the Cowboys or Redskins as a franchise if you were to sell them today.

Look at the money involved in contracts. Not too many footballers signing for $100 million plus. Granted they do play 162 game schedules compared to 16-20 for NFL, but the entire world is competitive in baseball. Not so much in football. It still is mostly USA in football. The Latin and Asian community alone added into the mix easily puts the MLB over the top.

Complicated question as most professional franchises are closely held entities. Football has huge national t.v. revenue for it's regular season games, but baseball draws more fans (probably around 2 million per team) but only has local t.v. revenue. Baseball fans pay for far more parking and concessions than football which probably only draws around 600,000 fans (60,000 x 10 regular and preseason games). Football tickets are generally more expensive, however.
Marketing of apparel is probably a wash between the sports.
If I had to guess, I would say football, those national t.v. dollars are hard to overcome.

Baseball makes more money overall, but it's also because each team plays 162 games. Football team only play 16.
