I am currently enrolled at Indiana University...great programs.
They are always so wonderfully helpful when I call. And there are tons of teachers around at the campus to help you if you need it, by email, phone, or fax.

Many real universities offer some courses on-line. These are reputable.

However, most on-line universities are For Profit colleges that are not selective and may have shady practices. Employers will not take on-line degrees seriously.

The largest of these For Profit on-line universities is the University of Phoenix. They were recently fined $9.8MM by the Department of Education for their illegal recruiting practices. They are currently under investigation for padding their placement numbers.

If you want to be able to get work when you are done and get an education -- go to a real college.
