You might need an IVA number which is similar to our own National Insurance No. I lived in Spain and you need this number for any major transactions/purchases. Not entirely sure about internet purchases.

Buying something as valuable as a car on the net is not adviseable, however as you insist one of the best sites is autoscout24. It's a european site in many languages. You can search through all of europe or specify a particular state. Most adverts are legit but beware of the scams, e.g. selling forty grand cars for fifteen grand etc. You'll never see the car or your money again. Other precautions to look out for are conflicting locations for vehicle, phone numbers and e-mail address.
