I don't want to be a litigator. In fact, I'd rather never stand before a judge; I am not that advarsarial.

Any ideas? I'd like to work in civil rights, labor, immigration, or adoption in either the public or private sector, just not in litigation.

Many attorneys specialize in areas where "litigation" is not imperative. Real Estate attorneys are a good example. I'd suggest you search the internet for other options as the law is so diversified.

Best wishes!

There are many attorneys who make a good living handling pre trial cases outside the courtroom. You could be a Judge or a politician or a corporate attorney. You could go to work for a non-profit or a citizen's advocacy group and lobby for the issues you care about.
