Believe it or not, both democrats and republicans breathe, drink water, and grow old....

When you have lived as long as I have, you'll know politicians will say anything to get elected, however, you'll need to look at past performance to have a feel for what they'll really do.

He has a Democratic majority in the Senate and Congress now. The President did not seem too concerned with many issues besides the war before this past fall after the elections.
But, then again, I have not believed a single thing he has said all along. I did not vote for him.
Because of the Democratic majority, and many are against overspending for the war, the President has to "shift gears" in order to make it appear as though he favors the Democrats ideas.
I listened to his speech last night and could only think, as I do with many politicians, "Liar, that's a lie, another lie". As you can plainly see, I do not appreciate being lied to by our leaders and the politicians who supposedly represent us, the people.
But, since Bush doesn't read newspapers, watch news on TV, and only has his cronies to tell him what is really going on, he is extremely unprepared to really represent the "common" people.

I have been concerned about healthcare and the environment for many years, but I am just a village idiot.

Absolutely... I've been feeling betrayed by our country's leaders, because not enough is being done or planned about serious environmental issues. Also, not enough is being done about our dependence on foreign fossil fuels...
