I'm usually very regular and am usually never more than 3 days late. It's been 5 days now and no signs of my period or PMS symptoms. I've been pregnant before and I don't really feel pregnant right now (my pregnancy symptoms are pretty strong & appear quite early). I've been sick (severe colds) twice the past month, and I'm still sick right now. I know I can just take a pregnancy test, but just wanted to know if anyone has gotten a late period because of getting sick. I'm not emotionally stressed out by being sick, but can't say the same for my body. Thanks a bunch!

Thanks for all the answers! I really appreciate it. But my period finally came today w/a vengeance. I guess being sick really does mess up the menses due to the extra stress on the body.

You might not be emotionally stressed, but your body is. And since that's the case, you may experience some delay in your period. Now, if you're asking whether "colds" can delay your period, the answer is no. Not unless your reproductive system is way up there where its not supposed to be. Rest well and before you know it, you've got your period.

if you have always had regular periods i would say that a cold would not delay periods, but if your period have always been irregular, maybe its just coincident that you are late and also have a cold.

my friend recently kept being sick and had flew like symptoms and her doctor told her there was a "viral infection " going around.

If in doubt get a pregnancy test.

Yes, any illness can mess up your mechanicals. It will return to normal when you are better and your body can stop focusing on getting rid of bugs

Sometimes sickness can cause you to be late. Don't worry about it. Your probably late because your sick.

Not always, but it can do - espcially if you haven't been eating well for a couple of months because of illness.
