that depends on what trainers you mean. if they are like plimsoles (takes me back to school) like vans slip-ons or whatever then they r pretty good lol.
flats are best tho. no heels to slip on lol.

The safest shoes I have ever worn are by a Portuguese company called Arcopedico, I have worn only these shoes for the past six years including throughout the winters, they grip like you wouldn't believe. They're also the most comfortable I've ever worn too, I'm a carer and am on my feet all the time. I've never had a single blister with any of the pairs I've had. You can get them from theshopforshoes.co.uk.

Anything with good grip on the soles should do it. I personally find trainers (not really old worn ones) work well for me. I hate walking about in weather like we have been having recently, at this time of year I won't leave home without my trainers. I change into my shoes when I get to work!

Cramp-ons, usually come with matching ice axe. They are designed to climb vertical ice cliffs. Perfect for when global warming triggers another ice age.

Caterpillar boots are best. You won't slip very easily and if you do you won't hurt your ankle.
