I do not have a cd writer in my computer, i only have a cd player where i can read what is in the cd but i cannot burn cd. Can I use my existing cd player and download software to make my player a cd burner?

No. A CD burner has additional hardware in it that is used for burning a CD. If you want to burn CD's, you will have to go buy a CD burner for your computer. It will also come with software that will allow you to burn CD's.

NO just NO. Actually yes you can but i assume you are not a millionaire SO no, No you cant. the issue will become that your Player has no write head, and there fore can not write information in any fromat. all the software will do is tell the burner what kind of format it will create buffer sixze things like that. you need tangable hradware that can do the function first.
But fear not a CD burner cost about 25 to100 bucks walmart got one for 39.95

As everybody said NO, but buy a DVD burner, it will burn both dvd's & cd's,

don't waste your money on JUST a CD burner!

No, you cant convert your CD drive.
But there very cheap at the moment.

no, they're physically different - you could install a wiriter into your existing computer though, it isn't that hard.
