Has anyone bought a laptop with a 17' screen that they have to carry around and regretted it?

I cannot decide whether to buy a 17' laptop to take on placment, or buy a desktop to leave at home and trust that my placments will all have adequate computing facilities. What's stopping me going for the laptop is the weight issue., Anybody found the wieght of a 17" laptop a pain in the *** to carry around?

all laptops are a pain to carry round... have you thought of getting a rucksack style laptop bag? that way your shoulder won't suffer too much and it'll be easier to carry round even if it is a 17"er x
