The only way you can do it without lenses is to use a mirror that is shaped to focus the light. Get a book on amateur telescope making for a start.

The easiest way is to get a big lens with a long focal length, and a small lens with a short focal length. You can measure the focal length by projecting an image of the sun onto a piece of paper. When the image is in focus, the distance from the lens to the paper is the focal length of the lens.

Now get a tube whcih is about the same length as the two focal lengths added together. Mount the big lens at one end and the small lens at the other. You'll need to be able to slide the small lens in and out a bit to focus the telescope.

This is a simple telescope, so it will turn everything upside down.

Well you wouldn't use a magnifying glass lens to make a telescope anyway, the focal length is too short.

Most people who make their own telescopes make reflectors. Reflectors use a concave parabolic mirror to collect light, which it directs to a flat but tilted secondary mirror called a diagonal, and this directs the light into the eyepiece.

There are many books on telescope making.
