I work in a restraunt myself and can tell you that you need to tip at least 15%...servers only get paid on average 2.13 an hour and have to tip out 3% on every check...so do the math and alot of money is not made if the customer does not tip well... all the other staff is paid through the tip share from the servers...if you dont tip well, the servers will remember your face for life...and your trip to that restraunt will not be as enjoyable...just think about how you would feel

Typically, you tip 15-20% for meals. A lot of times, restaurants will give a portion of the servers tips to the bus people. I tip taxi drivers $2-3 and bartenders a $1 every couple of drinks. I guess it depends on the overall service...if it's bad...little or no tip, if it's good, a little higher of a tip.

in restaurants usually 15-20 percent is norm....taxis (I dont know...I'm usually too lit up and just give a handful of bills), ...bus boys (girls) get a higher hourly wage and a percentage of the tips their server makes...bar persons I tip very well - for example $2 to $3 dollars a drink...

Think like this. Start in your mind with 15% of you like the service and the food tip 20% if you don't tip 10%.

15 to 20% in restaurants. my rule of thumb is: 20% if you can afford it, otherwise 15%. bus boys (girls) are usually tipped by the wait staff. bartenders usually give good service if you tip them good with the first drink and tell them to keep coming back.

10 to 15 % of total bill - depending on the quality of service you get. I usually subtract a dollar for every idiotic thing they do.

If you have good service at a restaurant - 20% to your waiter/waitress...
A good bartender - $1 per drink - minimum!
Enjoy your trip!

15% is fairly standard ... up to 25% for really, really outstanding service. Awful service rates zero.

Not as much as the US.
You don't have to tip at all in restaurants, but 10% if service has been special.
Only a dollar or two for cabs.
You'll love the people there, they really go out of their way to make you feel welcome. Wasn't one that didn't make sure we were enjoying our stay, from the guy at the cleaners to every cabby to our food servers.
Of course, we are "white", and I'm not sure people of any color would have the same experience there.
