I hear a lot of he/she said about this business that you dont make the amount of money that you should, is this true?
I want it from a person in the real estate business perspective.

From what I hear is it's good money if your good at sales.I know of 2 people who r agents and they took 1 course and paid for there licence n made triple the money the same month.1 person made 10 grand on 1 sale.If u sell 1 house a month you will b living good.

Real estate is such a general term...there's commercial and residential, there's brokerage and appraisal, property management and leasing. There is no universal term. A lot of people here about those that make lots of money in real estate and make tons of money so they think it's easy money. There certainly is LOTS of money to be had but don't expect it to fall in your lap. Like anywhere else, you have to work for it, but it is rewarding and has big potential. You have to be able to take risks and go out on your own though, no steady paycheck which a lot of people can't handle....greater risk can mean greater rewards. Good luck!

Yes it is a very good business if you are doing it in India because till 2010 there is a very big boom in property and at this stage and pace at which India is developing a person must go for real estate

You don't make much for the first few years. It takes a while to build up a client base, some listings, etc.
I live in a HOT real estate market, and I've heard first-year agents tell me they made less than 20,000 dollars.

Its a hard cruel business. As with anything there is the potential of Big Money if your in the right place at the right time and luck be with you. Its also considered Feast or Famine with very good times and very lean times.
