I have had a UTI for about 3 weeks...I have taken Bactrim and that didnt work. I sometimes wake up throwing up and have had diarrhea all morning. Other than that I really dont feel that sick. Do you think this has something to do with the UTI?? I am currently waiting for a dr appointment.

nausea , vomiting , diarrhea, and malaise are the common symptoms for infection of the urinary tract .You need to have a complete analysis of urine -pus cells, albumin and other deposits, and if there are plenty of puscells, you need to have your urine cultured to find out the type of bacteria and a culture- sensitivity test to find out the antibiotics to which these bacteria are most sensitive . The relevant antibiotics have to be taken for a fortnight atleast, even though the symptoms are nolonger there. UTIs are notorious for recurrence.

Bactrim is a sulfa based medication, and sadly often causes the symptoms you describe. It's good that you are seeing the doctor. I cannot take Bactrim at all and usually take Keflex for a UTI.

Vommiting and diarrhea isn't something that is usually associated with a UTI...how long has this been going on? You could have caught a stomach virus.

yes it has somethin to do with the UTI, the infection is getting worse go to the hospital.
