I don't know, but if it's not I'll still carry along happily in my 'unreal' world!

There are as many answers to this as there are people on the planet. In science, it must pass certain criteria for it to be considered law and/or real. On a more personal level, it is what you can believe in based on your personal experience. Beauty, for example, would be different for each person as we each have a ideal on what is attractive to us. Knowledge is what one has learned over time. Once it has been written down or passed to another it is diluted with that person's perspective on what happened. Communications are colored with each person's reality as well. You must accept each person's version as their reality, but not as your own. Only time and experience will lend you your own Reality.

if it is real to you then it is as real as it gets , our emotions dictate our reaction to all things , if it makes you feel good to believe in fairy's then they exist , only our instincts defend us from our emotions and our instincts demand that we live regardless of the consequences caused by our emotions .
