My TV is a pretty decent Samsung, which I love, but it's not HD. I know HD is the way to go right now but I'm just wondering whether there are any quality cables I can buy to make the picture just a tad sharper.

don't waste your time, the difference you get from higher quality cables will hardly be noticeable if at all. These cables are very expensive and not worth the difference in pic you will get (if any).

If you want a better picture, upgrade to a high def tv. 720P is fine if you don't want to go to 1080, you will still have a much better picture.

Yes if you have a tv that has a better output than what your xbox is just keep upgrading the display setting and it should ask you to wait for 10 secs. If the picture comes back on before 10 secs then your picture should appear clearer. If you have a hdtv then buy the hdav cable for your xbox and set your xbox 1080i like you do above.
