Am planning to buy my first laptop (brandnew) and the cheapest I could find was Acer Aspire 3682 NWXCi. Can someone please advice if this is among the better ones or just need to save more money for DELL options?

I basically need it for basic stuffs and wireless connection..

Thanks for you help!

If you go with a Dell, you really cannot go wrong. You do not specify a budget, but you can an excellent machine for $700 to $800. There is a 20% off coupon at http://www.24houredeals.com/dell-coupons-23-mer.html to keep that price down.

I have 2 dell laptops that I really think I got my money's worth.

I suggest that you save your money and get a dell. Remember - the cheapest is typically going to be a reminder that you get what you pay for.

looking from the inside-out acer is better. dell chassis bed and the plastic that surround the screen is paper thin. a week machine with bad chassis engineering the reason why they break. in the entire world of laptops there is just two kinds...Panasonic Toughbook and everyone else.
i own two...cf-27 and cf-29
both are Mil tested and are great. you can drop it and wash it off with water.

I have no personal experience of Acer, but I haven't heard anybody saying they are a good brand. I would save up a bit if I was you.
