Someone called my number several times mentioning a strange name. Each time I told him he had a wrong number. But he kept calling back and getting angrier. He kept insisiting that I get serious and stop kidding. He has not called back for a while now.

A local phone book had listed our home number to an area bar's name. Needless to say we had many calls asking for people who would be at the bar or if we're watching the big game. Even after telling them you've got the wrong number, they call back. Sencond call, "They've listed the number wrong in the phone book. Wrong number!" They call back a third time!
Finally I just pretend to be the bar so they'll stop calling. I wonder if that guy calling for his wife ever went down to the bar to pick a fight with the bar keep after telling him she was making out with some other guy?

I got phone calls saying
'Hi its John from british gas' the person would go on for a while and then say
'Hi this is Paul from The Link' and this would carry on the person keep changing their name and job.
I thought it was really funny I knew it was a prank call and I knew who it was after a while but it was amusing.

I was once asked if this was the cremetorium, I replied that it was.
That actually isn't that strange as I was working in a crematorium at the time

A guy rang on Xmas Day, I just said "Hello", he then spent 5 mins telling me what Santa had brought him, after a quite lenghty silence he said "This isn't Paul is it?", I said no but Merry Xmas anyway, cheered me up.
