Can it be comparable to lets say a baseball, ping pong ball? anything of that sort..

looks like a star. Is like a ping pong ball, only like 10000000000000 times bigger and hot.

Alpha Centauri looks like a big bright white star. It is on a bright cross in the sky called the Southern Cross. This cross is place right under the belly of the Horseman called Centaurus and belongs to the constellation of stars of Centaurus. Alpha Centauri means: Star A (number 1) of the Centaur. Can be seen in the Southern Hemisphere.

Alpha Centauri is really a collection of three stars. The two larger ones are similar to our sun. They just look like ordinary stars. Here's a short article on them
