On the mic, The Rock by a mile. Wrestling wise Chris Benoit. Overall though the greatest wrestler ever was Steve Austin.

That's a good, tough question. Throughout wrestling there have always been those who were good at one but not the other. Hogan was a great talker but he did very little in the ring. Same as with most big stars Austin and Rock included. But as far as Hogan's in ring performance goes, if we consider how much energy he is able to draw from the crowds when he is in the ring we may have to consider him one of the best in ring performers also because it has to be examined from all points not just who's the flashiest. I would probably have to say Bret Hart. He had good mic skills and was a good performer in the ring as well. Chris Jericho is on that list too.
Shawn Michaels was a good talker and performer early in his career but not asides from that little "pop up", he doesn't do much anymore. But he 41 years old so I guess we should expect that.

I'm suprised that this question is not all filled up with The Roc as the answer. Ric Flair by far is the best ever. And to the guy that said Stone Cold is the best wresler, please give me a break. The guy can barely do a descent headlock much less wrestle.

Hogan was a shitty wrestler.
If you look at the best wrestlers ever you gotta name Benoit, Malenko, Mysterio, Guerrero, RVD, Jericho, Angle, guys like that, as far as best on the mic, well there's hundreds of guys that were good on the mic that couldn't wrestle exceptionally well (Austin, Hogan)
But as far as the best at both, I would say Jericho, Angle or RVD. All three of those guys are top quality wrestlers and superb on the mic. But this is an opinion question so I am sure answers will vary.
