It kind of depends on the people and the situation. My wife and I went on our first date a week before I left the country for missionary service (kind of a Peace Corps thingy.) Two years and about a million letters later, I came home. We didn’t marry immediately…we had to wait six months for the chapel reservation. Just take it at the pace that feels right. Sometimes, rushing isn’t rushing, you just started out further along the trail.

Knew each other for a few years, dated for about six months, and another year of long distance relationship, then got married. He's a great man, but there are problems resulting from rushing a bit. KNOW THE FAMILY BEFORE YOU MARRY! Trust me. You may not marry your in-laws, but you certainly marry into the family. Liking them makes things easier. Loving them is even better. But absolute disgust, as in my case, makes for a lot of BS.

My husband and I dated for 7 years before getting married. Of course, I was only 13 when we started going out, so getting married wasn't even an option.
We have now been married almost 11 years.

I don't think there should be a set time limit. When everyone is ready and it feels right, then go for it.

Well i dated my husband two years before i married him. Some people date a month and get married and others longer than three years. It depends on the couple.

I thihnk it depends on the people. I have a friend who married a guy 3 weeks after she met him, another who married after 4 months, and yet another who married after 7 years of dating (not counting their "dating" in high school). They are all still together and completely happy.
