Wow Helen, are you sore you didn't get to uni? Well, I didn't go to uni but almost all of my work colleagues did and they didn't treat me any different because of it. I'm now at uni as the job I want to do requires a university qualification. I will still be the same person at the end of it and don't count myself above anybody else. People learn in different ways and have different things to offer. Some people think they're above others but this has nothing to do with whether they had a university education or not. I've had to deal with many superior fools and it's more often to do with a lack of intelligence regardless of their qualifications. A uni degree tells an employer something about your skills and ability and that is why some employers ask for degree level education. Some of the highest salaries go to business people who often started out young without much in the way of educational qualifications. Trends may indicate that degree candidates earn more but it's not a hard and fast rule. Did you ever see the Donald Trump programme where he had two groups competing for the job - one soley college educated, one high school educated?

The main motivation for attending any form of higher education, including college, is to someday be able to get a better job, earn more money and provide more for yourself and your family.

An education has little to do with what kind of person you are, though. Just because you get paid more, does not mean that you are a better person.

One thing to remember – which may apply in this case, is that people automatically make assumptions based on how you present yourself. So, even if you are a wonderful person, that cannot be accurately displayed online. For instance, if you have misspelled or used the incorrect form of a word – people may automatically downgrade you as a person.

It is mainly psychology, but it exists because it is mostly true. People with a college or higher education usually get better jobs. This is why people may assume that because they have a college education they will get a better job. This does not make them a better person, though.

First of all, without college educated people, you wouldn't have doctors, nurses, teachers, pilots, social workers, etc. etc. So you may want to rethink your negative opinion of people who are college educated the next time you need medical treatment etc.

You do not 'pay for a degree' you EARN a degree, what you pay for is a higher level of education which you can put to good use and make a difference in the world. College educated people deserve higher paying jobs because they have greater knowledge and understanding.

Are college educated superior, no, not necessarily, but it is the educated who enter the professions that make this world function and it is the educated who educate others.

I am highly educated, I teach special needs children and I spent 8 years of my life earning the knowledge and the degrees that I have. Am I superior to other people, no, but without people like me, paying higher rate taxes and changing lives, the world would fold up. I not only support myself and my own two children, my taxes support the idle people who sit on their butts doing nothing for a living.

Judging by your spelling, grammar and ignorance toward people who make an effort to better themselves, perhaps you should focus on a basic education first!

In every country of the world, people with college or university degrees earn much more - between 50 and 90% more - than people with high-school diplomas. They are also more likely to have a job. This does not make them superior, but it does mean that employers value the skills which they have developed. Investing in education is probably the best investment that anyone can make.

Well, I don't know whether college educated people are superior, but I would say different. Just like athletes and non-athletes are different. I earned a Master's dagree, and though that in itself doesn't make me better than you, it does make me different from someone without a college education. I value different things, I enjoy academic pursuits.

People with college degrees earn more because degrees are inherently valued. Also, many high paying positions are not attainable by those without dagrees. Would you go to a doctor or lawyer with only a high school diploma? Or an undertaker who just liked to fiddle around with dead bodies?

Some jobs require college education due to the amount of academic info required i.e. lawyers. Other jobs require a more hands on experience and therefore no college i.e. plumbers. I don't think this should have any bearing on pay though but unfortunately it does. Lawyers get paid more than plumbers, thats life

Where has this question come from? Are you feeling intimated by anychance. If so you ought not to, as experience can be as relevant in the workplace just as much as someone with with a college education.

However, what you gain in education cannot be measured as it will stand you in good stead for the rest of your life. So combine the two and do some open learning whilst your are earning. Guild the lillie.

Meloloufs..what skills do you think an undertaker needs? He/she does not just deal with the dead but with also with the living.
And that word fiddles with dead bodies...has connotations be very careful with your choice of words dear. The late Eva Peron knew all about being fiddled with as did Marylin Monroe when they were dead..

"Collage- a technique of composing a work of art by pasting on a single surface various materials not normally associated with one another, as newspaper clippings, parts of photographs, theater tickets, and fragments of an envelope."

I went to university and I have never, ever heard of a collage educated person before. There goes my superiority complex. I thought I knew everything!

Consider the state of grammar and spelling in your question, then....yes.

Incidentally, I have a University education, not college (or collage; I'm fairly sure I've never been educated in a large piece of art made from different materials and fabrics.
