Yes, it can happen. I know I experience this about every 5 - 8 weeks. One year, I passed 84 kidney stones of varying sizes. It is most painful. It is a byproduct of Crohn's Disease in my case. My doctor manages this with me because there are other complications along with this. It is not a case of seeing only one doctor because I see several, hematologist, oncologist, internist, gastroenterologist, etc. I take medications to reduce size and number of stones and it helps. I feel for you, but life goes on. I only have to have serious pain meds (hydrocodone, etc) two or three times a year to handle it. Most of the times, I can just hang on and pass them.

I couldn't just sit around and do nothing like my doctors suggested.
They didn't want me to do anything or to take herbs or herbal remedies, but I had to try something - they just wanted me to do dialysis!
This program allowed me to take control of my health. I went from Stage 4 to Stage 3 kidney disease.
It was easy to do and my BUN, creatinine and anemia are all in better ranges.
