Harsh truth please! IUD removal obviously hurts, but what I want to know is how much?!

It's actually pretty easy to be taken out. A quick pull on the strings and you're done. Maybe a quick cramp and some spotting afterwards, but not anything like getting it put in.

I had my iud in place for over 3 years and had it removed in 2002 as i wanted another baby , i can honestly say it was more uncomfortable having it put in that it being removed , no pain whatsoever , maybe a little spotting but that was it .

Hi - had mine out after six months of not being happy with it. It was a bit uncomfortable to have taken out whereas I found it unbelieably painful to have put in. So in my experience having it taken out was a breeze.

When I had mine removed it hurt less than it did when they put it in!!

It hurts no than having a period pain .It dosn't hurt having it removed.

My friend just had hers removed she said it didn't hurt...now she is just moody =]
