Great question if you could have included some facts to base your question. You might ask, why do the citizens not care about jobs going overseas........if we didnt buy the products made in China, there would not be a market for them here. Start buying products made in USA only and see how things will change.

Your president (and Cheney) only cares about the bottom line of the companies his family has interests in. That and generating money through oil and war. Bottom lines are all that matter, regardless of wars, or climate change, or the disintegration of the American Way of Life.
I personally like America and believe in your country as a world leader but see that that view (231 years) has been badly tarnished in ONLY 6 years by Dubbya.
I hope for a Democratic president (if there is a good enough candidate (Obama, or Hilary)) to reverse the damage done and show the world the way America could be again.
A concerned Canadian.

Hello, this is the same man who is sending babies to die in Iraq for his own selfish reasons. Oil. That's what all the wars in the middle east have been about and this one is no different. Bush doesn't give a crap about the jobs in this country. If he did, the economy wouldn't be in the crapper like it is now. I don't know about you, but I am barely making ends meet. Every president is going to continue to do the same thing. It's all about the money and it will never change. Thank you.

He may care but his hands are tied. The open borders deals were almost all arranged by the democrats to serve their ideas of fair trade. The fact that so many specialized, technical jobs are done in other countries now seems to be just what they wanted as they are doing nothing about them.

He cares but he cant beat the low priced labor that other countries are offering. Companies are always in cost containment mode. PROFIT is everything...So companies bring their business somewhere else. Your a consumer, right? So obviously you'll go to where ever you can get a bargain/sale...Simple economics my friend.
The way to fix is this that we have to be competitive with pricing and improve quality of service/product...But i guess our president has other agendas like funding this uneccessary war and just wasting away peoples taxes for america's so called "national interest" , "strategic interest" , "war on terror" (terrorists are everywhere not just iraq. Might as well invade the whole middle-east, right?!), "find weapons of mass destruction"...i can go on....

Don't worry buddy. America isn't going to become a third world country any time soon.
It used to be that they supported the worlds economy, but now, the world supports its economy.

I agree with you but don`t forget...It has been the policy of the last few administrations to allow this to happen. It will continue to happen with future administrations. It makes Wall Street look fantastic, for now...What can be done ? I don`t know. We have to remember we`re in a global economy now. What do we do about that ? ...That is the trillion dollar question !

Our products are quality made, even the jobs. So what is the payment for them , besides pain?. The only sense it could make to my mind right now is that the economy is looking for space to grow and something has to go to make space available .they claim overpopulation on one end and not enough workers on the other.I even think the reason is we are outgrowing them. maybe.

Because it's good for all the big corporations that support the Republican Party; and it provides an argument for driving down the wages of American workers.
