Yes-ducks confined can survive but are VERY messy. They are ducks and swim most of the time. We keep our ducklings inside in boxes until they have their feathers and it warms enough to put them out even at night. Then we place them in a cage outside until they are large enough to let out to go to the ponds. It is hard for a domestic hen to raise ducklings because of predators. We try to keep them put up at night just for that reason. So yes they will be fine, just keep clean shavings and plenty of water. If you let them swim in the tub, be careful to not leave them in there too long, as ducklings the oils in their feathers are not developed as ducklings with their mothers and they can get too much water and will get sick and die. Keep a heat lamp on them it needs to be right around 100 degrees for the young ones.Good Luck

Is there any way you can get out of it? You can't keep them penned up, they WILL die. Of course you can't let them run around everywhere because they will poo on EVERYTHING. The noise is a free bonus. The best thing, next to letting someone with at least a yard where nothing can hurt them would be to let them swim around in the bathtub for a little while each day. They need to swim.

There is nothing you can do! they will get very messy and loud the longer you keep them. I hatch ducks and put them on my pond, I have keep them in sheds in cooler weather and the sooner you can get them outside the better. If you don't find a home for the in the right place you will be pulling your hair out, or the person next door will!

Put them in the bath tub so they can swim and exercise. Ducks eat alot, make sure they have plenty of room.

Nice trick.

I think you should let them run around your dorm and take them to the shower with you. They will enjoy the water. Don't forget cold shower only.
