I saw 24 for the first time the other night, only at the insisting of my coworker who adores the show. I found it times boring, other than when Kiefer Sutherland was in the scene. She stated that it was not one of their best ones, but after the season premier, they probably wanted a breather. She stated that I need to give it time. I told her that I did not think the show would survive with the Kiefer Sutherland character of Jack Bauer.

It depends on what you like...if it's not for you, then that's fine. I personally love the show and did not get into it until a last summer after catching it on A&E, of all stations. I figured I'd give it a try and E-bay'd Season 1 on DVD. I watched that I was hooked. The rest is history.

You don't think the show will survive with Keifer Sutherland's character, huh? Well, this is like the 5th season or something like that and Jack Bauer is still going strong. He is what make the show so good. Now, if you would have said that the show would not make it WITHOUT Jack, then I may have had to agree with you. You really should have seen the other seasons to really know Jack. It really is a great, original show. After the 1st season, I used to call myself the unofficial spokesperson for 24, because I tried to get everyone to watch it!

Just give it time, it's worth it. The scenes without Jack are kinda boring, but his scenes make up for them all. Did you see the premier? It was great, Mondays wasn't terrific but it was still good. Keep watching, but only if you want to get addicted to a show:)

i've never seen a single episode. nothing wrong with the show, people love it. i did see a clip of it on the soup the other day showing him biting a piece out of a guy's neck and spitting it out - that did it for me i don't want to see that!

not every show is for everyone, but it is a ratings success and has been on for 5 seasons i think

Never seen an episode. Some folks love it. it looks cheesy to me. I just don't see how commercial TV can do the show right. I find the HBO and Showtime shows more gripping. Though I must say I did see Alias a couple of times, and it was pretty good for ABC. Later episodes were cheesy, but the 1st and 2nd year were pretty good.
