As you have asked about movies watched at theatre and NOT on DVD/vcr, I am mentioning movies only seen at theatres.

1) Titanic - That was an awesome movie at that time. I remember trying to get tickets for the movie. It was a 'titanic' task getting the tickets in those days of no internet/sms booking. The ending was so awesome. That scene between Jack & Rose in the end was great. That movie worked because it was a love story which the movie audience was NOT expecting.

2) Terminator 2 - The special effects were awesome for its time. The story was great and Arnold was simply fantastic.

3) Batman - The 1st batman with keaton was a fantastic experience. The whole class in my school was taken to see this movie.

4) The Departed - The ensemble cast of Jack Nicholson, Matt Damon, Leonardo Di Caprio, Mark Wahlberg, Martin Sheen. Directed by Marty Scorcesee. Need I say more. Awesome stuff. Great cinema. This movie should be watched in a cinema as only a cinema screen can hold such a gigantic cast. It was great fun.

That telephone scene between Leo and Matt where there is a silence between the two as both of them do not know what to say is just AWESOME. Direction at its best.

5) Space Station 3D IMAX - This was the 1st 3D IMAX movie that I saw. The experience was EXHILARATING and mind-blowing awesome. It was like I could touch the characters on screen, It was like I was a part of the movie. TRUST ME, 3D IMAX is the cinema of the future!!

I could name a few more but since you asked for 5 movies and that too watched only at a cinema I am not naming more.

But I must mention one Indian movie that I saw in theatre that I just loved - Satya. It is about Bombay underworld and how it lures poor, disillusioned youth into its folds. Amazing insight into a doomed life!

All I can say is, Keep watching good movies. Otherwise movie studios will only make crap like 'My Ex-super girlfriend'. Now, that was a truly horrible movie. :D
